Boy, Oh Boy!

My brother and his wife have a baby boy on the way! In their honor, Shane and I and my sister, Connie, threw them a Couples Baby Shower!  We really wanted a sophisticated look for the party, so we set the tone with this blue and brown square invitation with ribbon (R6-26).

Two Sisters Catering provided an excellent pearl pasta bar where guests could add their own toppings- sauteed mushrooms, beef tenderloin or chicken, garlic, grilled veggies, and add their choice of sauce too- yum! To carry on the blue and brown theme,  we served cupcakes for dessert with petite blue flowers on them- so simple and so cute!

The table decorations included floral arrangements with white, blue, and purple flowers with scattered beautiful stones and votive candles on the table to reflect light and add a little color.

It was a wonderful party, and Teresa and Angelo got lots of great goodies for their little guy on the way!

She's an American Girl...

... from morning 'til night!

Like i said, birthdays are a big deal at our house!  We started early in the morning with presents galore.  The favorite this year is the fuzzy pink chair from Swoozies!  Check out the birthday princess in all her glory!

By noon we were off to entertain her nearest, dearest friends for lunch at the newly opened Dallas location AMERICAN GIRL BOUTIQUE & BISTRO!  What a treat.  The fun started when the Cross My Heart hand-painted custom invitations were in the mail!  The invites were designed just for Gracie.  That's the beauty of the custom department at CMH, it's made just so, just for you!

As you can tell, the theme is hot pink and the decor at the bistro makes for the perfect event. Pink balloons, pink chairs, a pink birthday outfit worn by the guest of honer... even pink polka dots on her cake!

Each guest brought their dolly, they sat together and dined together!  What a wonderful birthday celebration.

The day ended with a family dinner and yes... another cake, presents and lots of love, xoxoxo!

Fabulous and Forty

My good friend, Nora Milner, just celebrated a birthday! We decided to surprise her with a girls night out celebrating "The Year of Nora" because "Lordy, Lordy... Nora's 40!"

We picked brown and blue as the theme colors, gave M&M's with "40" printed on them from Swoozie's as the party favors and turned up the party with some eats, drinks and FUN !!!!

The invitation set the tone and a good time was had by all... those under the hill, those on top of the hill and all those who are now over the hill! In the end, we decided it really doesn't matter how old you are... the truth is.... you are only as old as you feel!

ps. I gave Nora this cute little handbag from one of my favorite designers, Glenda Gies. I had the opportunity to meet Glenda at the National Stationery Show a couple of years ago. She was set up across from the CMH booth, and I've become a 'Glenda Groupie" ever since! Glenda designs the most wonderful vintage reproduction handbags you've ever seen! They are the perfect gift!
