Here Comes the Bride!

Last Friday was the big Wedding Day for our officemate Trina and her fiancee Jason, so we closed up the CMH office early to attend the wedding (kind of).  Since the couple was getting married in Las Vegas, we didn't actually get to see the ceremony in person, but we DID watch it LIVE via the web, which was pretty cool.

In Trina's honor, we gathered around her desk and used her computer screen to watch the beautiful bride walk down the aisle at Madalay Bay.  We had a few refreshments of our own to watch the event, and Beverly made a hilarious grand entrace to the party as a beautiful bride herself with her plastic bag veil and packing tape gun bouquet.  Bev looked pretty good, but she paled in comparison to the real bride.  Trina was beaming with happiness, and she looked absolutely STUNNING in her wedding dress.

The ceremony was short but sweet, and I must admit that there were happy tears on BOTH sides of the computer screen (but I won't name names). 

Congratulations Trina and Jason!  Everyone at CMH is thrilled for you two!

CMH Doggie Day

In case you missed it, last Friday was national Bring Your Dog to Work Day.  We were too busy preparing for the summer Markets last week, so we decided that it might be fun to have the pups around for awhile today instead. Therefore, today is declared the very First Annual CMH Doggie Day (well, half day technically, but that doesn't sound as glamorous in a booming voice)!

Aside from a few minor mishaps, the dogs have been pretty good, actually.  They've enjoyed making new friends, and it's been fun for us too (definitely a one of the perks of working in a casual office).

A Typeface Speaks

At Cross My Heart, we spend hours each release making sample 
invitations and announcements on our new products. We combine catchy 
phrases, cute poems and the perfect typeface with the date, time and 
place of the event and ... viola, the sample is complete!

The content included is just as important as the typeface in which it 
is presented.  There are a multitude of typeface offerings to set any 
mood for any occasion!

Some of our favorite pairings are as follows:
elegant =  Edwardian Script
fun =  Honey Script
sophisticated = Elegant
juvenile =  LD Delightful
sweet =  Wendy Medium
classic =  Copperplate
basic = Helvetica

Although we don't use Helvetica too often as Cross My Heart is a far 
cry from "basic".... Helvetica speaks to you daily!  I love Gary

It's that time again...

Bowl-o-Rama

The Bowling Party on Friday was a HUGE success!!!  Everyone had a blast, and it was unanimously voted that we should go bowling again very soon, so that's GREAT.

It was so much fun to enjoy one another's company outside of the office- have a few drinks, eat some pizza, and bowl a few frames!  For several members of our warehouse staff, this was their very first time to bowl (although you wouldn't know it from some of their scores)!  There were definitely plenty of laughs to be found all-around (even at those who HAD been bowling before).

Bowl-a-riffic Party

This Friday we're having our CMH Holiday Party... and we're going bowling!  For this festive shindig we used invitation 6039 Bowling Silhouette (which has been really popular!)...  Check back on Monday for pics from the party!

Pumpkin Party

This week we had the much-anticipated Pumpkin Party!

Everyone brought food to share, so we we had a fantastic smorgasbord to feast on before the pumpkin carving- everything from salads and enchiladas to chips and queso and pecan pie!  Yum! 

After everyone was sufficiently STUFFED, we started the pumpkin carving contest...  For weeks, everyone in the office has been brainstorming and very secretive about the plan for their pumpkin- and their efforts produced great results!  Every entry was GREAT!  They were so good in fact, that the votes for each category were really close...

The party was a blast, and it was a treat to see everyone having such a good time... despite being elbow-deep in pumpkin guts!  Tez in Handpainted surprised us all by carving her VERY FIRST PUMPKIN EVER- and it turned out great!  Check it out:

Pumpkin Mania

The past few years CMH has had a Pumpkin Party at the studio... We provide the pumpkins for a pumpkin carving contest, have everyone bring a dish/dessert to share, and spend the afternoon having a great time (and making a mess)!  This morning I loaded up my car with 38 pumpkins and brought them to the office (sometimes if you wait until the week before Halloween, it's hard to find that many good pumpkins!)...  Everyone was so excited, they wanted to snag the "perfect pumpkin" right away for their carving masterpiece!  So now the office is sprinkled with pumpkins at each desk and lots of whispered ideas for who's going to do what to their pumpkin to win a prize...

Lots of Photos

I know most of you scrappers have ordered dare-I-say, THOUSANDS of photos to scrap your little hearts out... but have you ordered them all at once?  We have.  In fact, I think we might hold the record for ordering 13, 467 photos at one time!!!  No, I'm not making the biggest scrapbook in history, but we sample all of our holiday photo cards with photos on them (for our sales reps)... Thus, we ordered LOTS of photos in May (Christmas photos, nonetheless).  Here is a pic of the "photo table"... of course, this isn't ALL of them, but it gives you a good idea of how many we're talking about here.  Stacks and stacks...
